The Summit House – Deer Valley

2019-07-31T11:39:33-06:00July 31st, 2019|Categories: Projects|Tags: , , , , |

An amazing Deer Valley house that we painted a few years ago was just listed for sale for $25 million. Pictures and videos can be seen here: The Summit House. The house (located at 9828 N Summit View Drive, Park City, Utah) is over 20,000 square feet with seven bedrooms and 11 baths. The Fisher Group describes the house as the “ultimate ski chalet.” They continue, “Designed by renowned architect, Michael Upwall, this ski-in/ski out home is a brilliant combination of mountain luxury, artistic design, entertainment and ski resort access…The property is truly one you have to see in person to appreciate the level of detail and finish that is unlike anything the Park City market has seen… it looks and feels like you are walking through a private resort.”

Utah Style & Design – Photo Friday: The New Old Town

2018-10-29T16:51:08-06:00October 29th, 2018|Categories: Press, Projects|Tags: , , , , , , , |

We painted and stained the interior and exterior of a house that was recently featured in the Utah Style & Design Magazine’s Photo Friday feature. It was titled: The New Old Town. The home was designed by architect Jonathan DeGray. Scott Zimmerman did the photography for the magazine and said the home “ties into Old Town’s historical mining past with the roof pitch, scale, and warm woods, while at the same time it announces modern credentials with concrete, metal, ample windows and disappearing glass doors.” Scott also said that “the camera-ready quality of the interiors added to the ease of the photo shoot.”

Is it Time to Re-Stain the Outside of My House?

2018-03-16T18:56:18-06:00March 14th, 2018|Categories: Painting Info|Tags: , , , , , , |

Now that the snow is disappearing, it is time to consider if your house needs a new coat of stain or paint. While Park City is a beautiful place to live and work, its climate is very hard on house exteriors.  Bright sunlight and snow & rain can cause exterior finishes and woodwork to degrade rapidly. At Park City elevations exteriors should be stained at least every 3-5 years.

Ultraviolet (UV) exposure increases dramatically with elevation.  Most of Park City is between 7000 feet and 8500 feet above sea level. At these altitudes UV exposure can be 50% higher than at sea level. Think about how easy it is to get a sunburn on a blue-sky day at Deer Valley or Park City Mountain Resort; the sun has a similar effect on the exterior of a house.  Stains add to the beauty of your home and also act as “sunscreen” for exterior woodwork.  […]

Choosing a Painter

2018-03-16T16:50:46-06:00October 7th, 2017|Categories: Painting Info|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

When one is choosing a painter for your custom home, we believe the two most important considerations are (1) quality and (2) timeliness. The work of a high quality painter is quite visible and can be seen in every room of your house. Our primary goal is to make sure our customers are completely satisfied with our work. Also, because of our extensive experience and larger size, we are able to meet difficult timelines and schedules.

Fred Marshall Painting is the premier painting contractor in Park City. Over the years we have had a number of clients that first chose a less reputable painter because of price, but subsequently hired us when the job was “completed” or even in the middle of the job to fix quality issues or to meet a schedule that was not being met. It is usually better for your stress level, and even your wallet, to […]

2018-03-22T16:04:18-06:00July 5th, 2016|Categories: Press, Projects|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |

An amazing house we painted (built by Allred Construction) is featured in the Summer 2016 Park City issue of the Western Home Journal – “Reclaimed Retreat.” You can see more pictures below and by clicking here. The article starts:

“The best way to describe this house,” says Bill Engvall, a world-renowned comedian and film and television star, “is by telling you how much I don’t want to leave home. When I’m traveling for work, I always feel like I would rather just be here,” he says, gesturing to the armchair he’s seated in. “A lot of times I just find myself sitting here looking out these big windows at the surroundings and not wanting to be anywhere else.”

What a view it is. Bill and Gail Engvall’s home is situated along the crest of a hill in the Glenwild development in Park City, Utah. The […]
